Download and Install Ledger Wallet™ (Ledger Live)

Ledger Wallet, now called Ledger Live, is the official application for managing Ledger hardware wallets. Here’s how to safely download and install it.

1. Go to the Official Ledger Website

2. Choose Your Platform

Ledger Live is available on:

  • Windows
  • macOS
  • Linux
  • iOS (Apple App Store)
  • Android (Google Play Store)

Click the download button for your platform.

3. Verify the File (Desktop Only)

  • Ledger provides a SHA256 checksum to ensure the file is authentic.
  • After downloading:
    • Windows:CertUtil -hashfile <filename> SHA256
    • macOS/Linux:shasum -a 256 <filename>
  • Compare the result with the checksum on the Ledger website. If it doesn’t match, delete the file immediately.

4. Install Ledger Live

Windows & macOS

  • Run the installer and follow on-screen instructions.

Linux

  • Make the AppImage executable:chmod +x ledger-live-desktop-*.AppImage
  • Run the AppImage file.

Mobile (iOS & Android)

  • Download from the official app store only.
  • Verify the developer is Ledger.
  • Open the app and follow setup instructions.

5. Connect Your Ledger Device

  • Open Ledger Live.
  • Plug in your Ledger hardware wallet (Nano S, Nano X, etc.)
  • Enter your device PIN.
  • Ledger Live will detect your device and allow you to manage crypto apps, send/receive crypto, and check balances.

6. Important Security Tips

  • Never share your 24-word recovery phrase. Ledger Live or Ledger staff will never ask for it.
  • Only update Ledger Live through the official app or website.
  • Ignore any messages or links claiming urgent updates—they could be phishing scams.
